LIMAB PreciLogger is a complete system is designed for monitoring the thickness or width of continuously moving product in a production environment. The thickness of the product is measured by using two PreciCura SR sensors one above and one below the object. The sensors need to be mounted on a rigid thermally stable mounting frame which is usually supplied by LIMAB. The PreciCura laser sensors are used in ‘Thickness Mode’. In this mode the internal processor handles the sampling synchronisation and calculates the actual product thickness. Calibrated thickness values are transmitted directly from the master sensor on the serial RS232 or CAN-Bus interface to the PC. The software displays the live current reading both numerically and graphically on screen. The display will change colour according to whether the product is in or out of tolerance providing the operator with status information at a glance. A product library which holds the nominal values and tolerances for each product enables the operator to switch quickly from one job to another. The software will record the data for an entire production and produce a summary report with the statistics which can be printed or viewed as a data file. An optional alarm output interface is available to provide alarms if tolerances are exceeded.
