PreciCura sensor family
The LIMAB PreciCura laser sensor family includes our range of single point laser sensors. They have been designed for measurement applications in harsh industrial environments. The PreciCura will measure with high accuracy the distance to the object, also during high transport speeds. There are versions to measure on both hot and cold materials. Measuring ranges are available up to 5.000 mm (197”) and some of the versions can also be customized according to the customers requirements.
PreciCura – a versatile measurement sensor
- The PreciCura uses the principle of laser triangulation and provides a high resolution over the measuring range of the laser sensor.
- The PreciCura measurement sensor adapts the exposure time automatically, which means accurate measurements regardless of measured surfaces.
- A rugged, robust and versatile laser single point triangulation sensor for dimensional measurements.

Operating Principle
All PreciCura sensors use the principle of optical laser triangulation.
Applications
Dimensional measurements such as:
- Width
- Thickness
- Length
- Diameter
- Level
- Profile
- Height
- Position
Measuring Principle
The PreciCura uses the principle of laser based optical triangulation. A laser spot is projected on to the surface of the material being measured. The laser spot is diffusely reflected by the surface and this light is focused back on to a CCD detector by a high quality lens system. The position of the light energy on the CCD array varies according to how far the target is from the sensor. The CCD array uses 2000 pixels and these are subdivided by a factor of 16 to provide a very high resolution of 32,000 over the measuring range of the sensor. The processor convert the pixel position to a mm position using a unique calibration look up table stored within the sensor.
Automatic exposure control
The PreciCura adapts the exposure time automatically to optimize the measuring performance irrespective of the type of material that is being measured. This means that accurate and repeatable measurements are always possible even on surfaces that are of different colors or have large changes in reflectivity.
Simple integration
The PreciCura is powered by a single 24VDC supply and calibrated measurements are available straight from the sensor.
Best-in-class technology
Internal microprocessor and high resolution CCD means accurate and reliable measurement on all types of surfaces.
Easy to configure
The PreciCura is supplied with a simple Windows software to configure the sensor.
Accessories
LIMAB provides a large range of accessories such as brackets, cables and stands.
Proven design
LIMAB has been developing laser sensors for more than 30 years. This experience has been brought into the PreciCura sensor family. Today the PreciCura is a robust, rugged and versatile laser triangulation sensor for dimensional measurements.
Rugged construction
The design of the PreciCura ensures the suitability for use in all types of tough industrial environments with years of trouble free operation.
Simple to interface
Communication is done directly from the sensor and no separate processor is needed.
Safe
Most of the versions are according to laser class 2, which means that no precautions are needed during installation or operation.
