RoadRun sensor family – Laser sensors for road profiling

LIMAB offers laser sensors for Road Profiling and measurements of rutting, IRI, longitudinal profile, transverse profile and texture. Road Profiling is a very demanding sensor application and requires high sampling speed, high accuracy and reliability in harsh environments. LIMAB has taken all this into account and developed the Road Profiling product families RoadRun TexRough and RoadRun System. All RoadRun sensors are self-contained and all signal processing is done in the sensors. RoadRun System is available with Ethernet interface, while RoadRun TexRough is available with RS422/ClockData.

Operating Principle
All RoadRun sensors use the principle of optical laser triangulation and will measure directly to almost any conditions of the road.

Rugged and industrial design
The RoadRun sensor is specially designed for road profiling applications. All sensors have double windows in order to minimize the risk for condensations and are passing leakage and mechanical chock tests before shipment.

Increased resolution and accuracy
The RoadRun System sensor has an integrated center-of-gravity evaluation of the measured distance and a 16-times sub-pixling algorithm.

Wide power supply voltage rating
9.5V .. 36V DC.

Range mask property
The possibility to perform range masking of each individual sensor concerning the measurement range will minimize the number of spare sensors.

Ethernet or Clock/Data interface
The RoadRun sensor family includes several versions with a variety of sampling frequencies. RoadRun System sensors are with Ethernet interface. RoadRun TexRough sensors have a Clock/Data communication interface and are interchangeable with other brands.

Accessories for system builders
In order to facilitate the sensor integration, LIMAB provides different accessories for road profiling system builders.

No extra control unit
The RoadRun sensor is self-contained without need for any external control units. This saves integration time and weight.

Low sensitivity for secondary reflections and background radiation
The RoadRun is designed to minimize influences from the surroundings such as reflections and radiations.

Low noise
The RoadRun family includes state-of-the-art sensors with a very low noise ratio.

Plug-and-play with other suppliers
Through RoadRun TexRough a standard Clock/Data interface is available for easy replacement of other sensor brands.
