GMS1100 – Gypsum board dimensional measurement

The GMS1100 is a non-contact gypsum board measuring system that uses laser-based technology for measuring the full dimensional shape of drywall/ gypsum board in-line during manufacture. The system measures and displays valuable information such as the thickness profile, taper profile and depth, width and edge profile, wet and dry board lengths. GMS1100 operates with LIMAB’s PreciCura and ProfiCura lasers.

Displayed drywall or gypsum board size

Key control values are all displayed and compared with tolerance limits.
Values such as:
• Edge angle
• Taper width
• Taper height
Trend graphs of key values, including width, thickness and edge angles, are plotted on the display. All measured data is archived for quality assurance purposes and post production analysis.

The easy way to see gypsum board size

The drywall/ gypsum board dimensions are easily measured using our modular non-contact measuring system. The PreciCura optical laser sensors are installed at the transfer table/inverter and can measure the full thickness of the plasterboard. Laser width sensors are placed before the knife for a constant full edge profile and width. Real time graphs are provided to the operators instantly together with warnings and other indications.

An additional width measurement system can be used right after the mixer for a quick indication of correct width dimensions. The length / shrinkage system, integrated in the GMS1100, measures the wet and dry length of the boards to reduce safety margin at the cutting and consequently the amount of scrap.

We do also have a surface defect detection system, see more information here.
